My first Star Wars movie ever watched was “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens” (2015) back in January, when it was released. It is one of my all-time wishes to finally see and understand what is the Star Wars saga all about, so now my wish is slowly becoming reality.
I had only one attempt of starting to watch it before, but I failed, choosing “Star Wars Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999)” as my first movie and I had a very hard time watching it, falling asleep about 25 minutes into it. After my failed attempt, somehow on the internet I stumbled upon “The Machete Order” also called the “right way”of watching the Star Wars movies, so I decided to try it, since I didn’t have much luck on my own.
The order is: IV, V, VI, I, II, II, VI, VII.
Today I have already watched “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope” (1977) and “Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back” (1980), and got an overall good feeling after them, being in a really good mood. The movies didn’t get me very excited or pumped up, but the story felt rich and complicated. It’s clearer now why is this series so popular and why it is so loved as it already got me impatient for the upcoming movies.
Two out of seven episodes watched, but there is no rush … the force is strong with every movie.
